As a truck driver, you are constantly on the road, your faithful companion, your truck cab, is your home away from home. It is important to keep it looking fresh and clean at all times. Luckily, you don’t have to be a professional detailer to make your cab shine. With a few simple steps, you can effortlessly hand wash the exterior of your truck cab.

5 Steps to Manually Cleaning the Cabin

In 5 steps you can achieve a streak-free and radiant result. If you have any questions, you can always contact us!

Step 1: Gather your supplies

Before you start, it's helpful to have everything you need at hand. Here's a handy checklist:

  • A bucket
  • Car Shampoo / Truck Shampoo
  • A wash mitt or brush
  • Microfiber drying cloth
  • Glass cleaner and possibly a rim cleaner
  • A garden hose or pressure washer
  • Optional: Foam Cannon
  • Optional: Fast wax

Step 2: Rinse the cabin

Start by rinsing the cabin with water to rinse away any coarse dirt and dust. Use a garden hose or other water source with sufficient pressure to ensure that you rinse away all dirt. Spray or rinse from top to bottom so that you can clearly see where you are, the bottom is often the dirtiest part and therefore has more time to soak off, so that you spray or rinse the bottom last.

Step 3: Lather and wash the cabin

Do you have a foam lance? Fill it with the shampoo mixture. Don’t have one? Fill a bucket with water and add the recommended amount of car shampoo/truck shampoo. Use the wash mitt or brush to thoroughly wash the cabin. Start at the top and work your way down, using circular motions to loosen the dirt. Make sure to cover all surfaces, including windows and mirrors. Rinse your sponge or cloth regularly to prevent dirt from scratching. Work from top to bottom to avoid scratching the dirt.

Step 4: Rinse thoroughly

Rinse the cabin again with clean water to rinse away all soap residue. Make sure you reach all the nooks and crannies to ensure that no residue remains! If you don't do this, you can get streaks. And that's a shame! Because a truck is larger, it is advisable to wash and rinse per section to prevent drying.

Step 5: Dry and polish the cabin

Use a drying towel to dry the cabin. Work from top to bottom and make sure you dry all surfaces to prevent water spots. Use a glass cleaner to get the windows and mirrors really clear.

If you want to give your cabin that extra bit of shine, you can now apply a wax. Not only will this make your cabin shine, but it will also help repel dirt between washes!

Conclusion

And that’s it! With these five easy steps, you can hand wash the exterior of your truck cab like a pro. It takes some time and effort, but the results are worth it. So what are you waiting for? Get your truck shining on the road again!
