Step 1: Gather your supplies

Before you start, it is useful that you have everything you need at hand. Below you will find a handy checklist:

  • A bucket
  • Car shampoo
  • A wash mitt
  • Microfiber drying cloth
  • Glass cleaner
  • A garden hose or water source
  • Optional: Foam cannon
  • Optional: Fast wax

Step 2: Rinse the cabin

Start by rinsing the cabin with water to wash away any coarse dirt and dust. Use a garden hose or other water source with enough pressure to ensure you rinse away all the dirt. Work from top to bottom to avoid dirt falling onto already washed areas.

Step 3: Foam and wash the cabin

Do you have a foam lance? Then fill it with the shampoo mixture. Don't you have that? Then fill a bucket with water and add the recommended amount of car shampoo. Use the wash mitt to thoroughly wash the cabin. Start at the top and work your way down in circular motions to loosen the dirt. Make sure you cover all surfaces, including windows and mirrors. Rinse your sponge or cloth regularly to prevent dirt from causing scratches.

Step 4: Rinse thoroughly

Rinse the cabin again with clean water to remove any soap residue. Make sure you reach all the nooks and crannies to ensure no residue is left behind! If you don't do this, you can get streaks. And that is of course a shame!

Step 5: Dry and polish the cabin

Use a drying cloth to dry the cabin. Work from top to bottom, making sure to dry all surfaces to avoid water spots. Use a glass cleaner to get the windows and mirrors really crystal clear.

If you want to give the cabin that extra bit of shine, you can now apply a wax. Not only will this make your cabin shine, but it will also help repel dirt between washes!

And that's it! With these five simple steps, you can hand wash the outside of your truck cab like a pro. It takes some time and effort, but the result is definitely worth it. So what are you waiting for? Make your truck shine on the road again!
